What Are the GOP Candidates for Governor Saying about the Met Council?

At last night's debate in Plymouth contenders for the GOP endorsement for Governor found a point of differentiation: how they view the Met Council.

When responding to Marty Seifert's goal of cutting the deficit Tom Emmer said, "If you take a look at where we differ right away. You go and you merge Human Rights into the Department of Human Services. The Department of Human Rights needs to go away. I'm not combining it with anything. You talk about redesigning a smaller Met Council. The Met Council needs to go away. We need to be more bold."

Read more debate coverage in MPR, Star Tribune and AP stories. You can also hear full audio of the debate.

Thanks to MPR and their Polinaut blog for the article and audio links.
